Interesting. I see how they play with both mediums, but with each example having it’s unique and playful take on their subjects. Definitely going to finish The Red Riding Trilogy (only saw 1974), and catch up on Carlos, since I thought his take on Les Vampires with Maggie Cheung was rad.
Aside from the examples you cited, are there any other significant works that kinda do similar things? I was thinking The Decalogues and Kieslowski the whole time, but I remember seeing that in the television aspect ratio so I don’t know if it counts.
In any case, keep this up. While I dig FSR’s news and reviews, I come here for the features and editorials. Especially if it leads to something like the 36 Dramatic situations. thanks.
